Rose Ice Cubes!
Rose Syrup
This recipe is from "Cocktails by Flavor" (2013).
Makes 2 cups
Ingredients
3-4 organic red, scented, garden roses2 cups caster sugar
11/2 cup water
Preparation
Wash rose petals. Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat to low, add the rose petals and simmer very gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally (do not boil).Remove from the heat and let cool 2-3 hours to allow the flavours to develop. Strain, then bottle.
Rose Champagne Cocktail
Rose syrup adds a sweet, floral touch to Champagne.
Makes 1 drink
Ingredients
2 teaspoons rose syrupBrut Champagne or sparkling wine
Preparation
Add the rose syrup to a champagne flute, then fill with Champagne.Bella Donna

Ingredients
1 2/3 ounces light rum2/3 ounce limoncello
2/3 ounce fresh lemon juice
Dash rose syrup
Champagne
Lemon spiral, for garnish
Preparation
Combine all the ingredients except the Champagne in a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a dash of Champagne on top of the drink and add the garnishI hope I have filled your hearts with the sweet scent of roses!
